Many fans of the series have been campaigning for a more open environment that they can explore more and since most of the games I play have wasd style free roam I understand how going back and forth to point and click can feel restraining. They’ve promised that we will be able to roam freely in the game world which is something that the point and click navigation of all previous games had denied us. I understand that they are transitioning into the Unity engine that has been good for so many games which will take some getting used to for the company that had been using their own engine for the longest time. This excitement died down as updates on the game have been sparse and there’s no release date in sight. It looked to be bringing back the suspenseful and eerie feeling of my favorite games in the series like “Shadow at Water’s Edge”, “Haunting of Castle Malloy”, and “Ghost of Thornton Hall”. This would be the 33rd game in the series that I was very excited about from the short teaser. The reason for this is that they haven’t released a new game in over 2 years.ĭuring the credits for HerInteractive’s 32nd Nancy Drew Game, Sea of Darkness, they rolled the teaser for Midnight in Salem. After another time silently sitting through my mother telling me to get a job in the video game industry (like it’s that easy) she asked me why I haven’t played the Nancy Drew games recently. What have you been up to? I’ve been mainly sitting around watching YouTube and taking depression naps but enough about me.
